Kailey and Max Wedding

Kailey and Max Engagement Gallery

Kailey and Max wedding was so much fun, and were so glad that we got to know them at their engagement session before the big day! I shot their engagement session in this incredibly beautiful area that has so much vibrant color and gets amazing sunset lighting. Kailey and Max were so laid back, and it shows in how effortless their engagement photos look. I’m particularly fond of the image of Kailey and Max in the wide open field with sun rays shining down on them. Another favorite pose of mine, bringing a blanket or quilt to your engagement session! When you bring a blanket you can get shots sitting and laying down, and the overhead black and white shots I got of Kailey and Max make my heart skip a beat. The one of them both laughing shows how special their bond is.

In Home Engagement Session

Jess and Chris wanted to have an in home engagement session and we loved this idea! I love documenting people in the places they love the most, and in their own home is extra special. We shot in their condo as well as around the outside of their condo to utilize as many different backgrounds as possible! The inside of their condo is full of warm neutral goodness which is ideal for photographing indoors. Things you traditionally want to avoid with indoor photos would love bright and bold colored walls as they can create colorcast. Jess and Chris fit right into their home, I love how comfortable these images feel. Even to strangers viewing these images, they feel intimate and warm. This is thanks to their genuine smiles, warm color scheme, and comfortable clothing choices!

Benefits of an In Home Engagement Session

Shooting in home creates posing options that aren’t available for outdoor sessions, like the fun poses on their couch! And most importantly, in home sessions allow for your fur babies to be present. Even cats are often willing to be in photos when they’re done in your home! This in home engagement session contains some of my favorite indoor photos I’ve ever taken!

We shot a few sweet images in their kitchen, the siting on the counter top pose is a classic and always turns out cute. After the living room and kitchen portions, we then went out to their porch for some cheers and beers! Including a beverage of your choice is a fun and simple prop to bring into the session. For engagements, an alcoholic beverage cheers just makes so much sense!

Jess and Chris are lucky to live in an area where right outside of their condo they have some great photo opportunities! The city streets are a big aesthetic. Small city roadways and tons of unique greenery gave us so many spots to shoot!

Fall Engagement + Wedding Photography

Fall engagement + wedding photography is one of our specialties! Silver Bear Creative got to shoot this adorable couple’s engagement session in the fall of 2019 out at Grapevine Lake! Their session was one for the books! So much sunshine during the warm Texas fall season. I am obsessed with both of the outfit combinations they decided on for their engagement session! I especially love that they went with all neutrals, but made the two outfits contrast each other so well. That black gown on Hannah is stunning! I couldn’t get enough of that dress flowing with the wind at the top of the rock cliffs over Grapevine Lake. Flowy clothing is great for movement in images and I love playing that up whenever I get the chance.

After their sweet engagement session, we were so stoked to be shooting their wedding in the Fall of 2020.

Cedar Hill Engagement Session

Haley and Marcus had so much fun during their Cedar Hill Engagement session with Silver Bear Creative! Cedar Hill Nature Preserve is an expansive wooded area that we love using for couples sessions. It has the perfect woodsy intimate vibes that so many of our couples aim for. Places like this are great for both casual and fancier outfits. Haley and Marcus did the best of both worlds with their engagement session outfit choices.

I wanted to get creative during Haley and Marcus’ engagement session, so I brought along a prism to use. A prism is used by putting it slightly in front of the camera lens to create fun patterns with light. I love how the prism images turned out during this engagement session! Adds a little bit of a whimsical element to some photos.

Engagement Session Posing

For every couples session I strive to use a wide variety of poses. I like mixing candids and posed images for the final galleries. My favorite poses from this session are the laying/sitting poses in the tall luscious grass. This pose is so intimate and looks amazing with a flowy bright colored dress such as the one Haley is wearing.

I also cannot deny how in love I am with ring close up shots! Look at how gorgeous Haley’s ring is! Marcus did such a good job picking out the perfect ring for his bride. The shape of the ring is so unique and stunning, it was fun to photograph! I love putting ring shots in black and white! Black and white images are great when you want to focus on the focal point of the image. This technique is ideal for an engagement ring photo! I really enjoy customizing the poses that I use depending on the couple.

Wedding at The Springs Alvarado

Emily and Colt had their wedding at the Springs Alvarado and it was so beautiful! This was Silver Bear Creative’s first time shooting at the Springs Event Venue Alvarado, we were thoroughly impressed with this venue! I loved all of the fall colors surrounding the ceremony area. Those changing leaves make for great bride and groom photos too! The large wooden arch covered in flowing florals was a dream come true to photograph! Have to throw in a shout out to all of the awesome vendors that Emily and Colt hired to bring this day together. Check these vendors out for your wedding!

The details that Emily and Colt put into their wedding day are so fun! Check out the little dinosaur cake toppers, haha! The florals are such great colors for fall, deep reds, blues and light pinks. Their color scheme is one of my favorites that I have gotten to document recently! Emily’s dress, and her bridesmaids dresses are so flattering! I think it’s really cool that both Emily’s wedding gown and her bridesmaids dresses have the same style halter top. Keeping the same silhouettes for all of their dresses is unique and makes everything feel super cohesive. Colt and his groomsmen look so dapper and stylish in all black. I like how they didn’t go one hundred percent traditional with the mens wear. No white undershirt for these men, all black everything! Everything came together for this wedding day so well!

Effie and Brian’s Wedding

Effie and Brian’s wedding was originally scheduled for June, and was rescheduled to October because of Covid. As photographers we at Silver Bear Creative have had to adjust and be super flexible with our schedule for the year. We’ve taken pride in being able to move our couples dates around to the best of our ability and make sure we are still able to be there for their big days!

We shot Effie and Brian’s engagement photos out at Prairie Creek Park. This park is a great little spot for a couples session! Prairie Creek Park features tons of trees, rustic bridges, and a creek with a rocky waterfall. The waterfall is usually what draws our clients to this shooting location.

Effie has two looks for their engagement session. She wore her traditional Indian Sari for half and a gorgeous violet dress for the second half of their session. These two love bright colors as we can see in their engagements and at their wedding! The more colors, the better! Colorful clothing and decor is fun to photograph and pleasing to the eye.

These two had a traditional Christian Indian wedding. This was a really fun and educational experience for us to get to document! Traditional weddings have longer ceremonies, and their reception was an epic lunch with the most incredible food! I can’t get over how colorful their wedding decor was, it was such a joy to edit these images.

Stone Creek Park Engagement

Devin and Colby’s Stone Creek Park engagement session stole my heart! I mean just look at these two and their handsome pup. Stone Creek Park is the perfect little spot for an engagement session, lots of nooks and crannies that make for great backdrops. Stone Creek Park is a unique spot in Texas, with its slate rock bed and the gentle creek that runs over it surrounded by heavy green trees. I love the moody vibes created naturally in this setting. With Devin and Colby’s big fun personalities, I knew they could pull of this unique location.

Creative Engagement Photography

One of my favorite shots from this Stone Creek Park engagement is the silhouette shot of Devin and Colby with the bridge in the background. Silhouette images are timeless and always make a statement. I always like to take a creative approach during engagement sessions, playing with light is one of the best ways to step out of your comfort zone!

Devin is in a band that plays at the church they attend together, we love artistic clients! Learning about the hobbies and passions our couples share helps us to capture them in their truest light. It of course helps when they bring along their fur baby to the session! Including your pets adds a fun element to sessions, and brings a ton of new posing opportunities. I personally love the pose where the pup is in the middle, so fun!

Colby and Devin are getting married this spring at Dove Ridge Vineyard! This is a venue we love and always look forward to shooting at. I have no doubt their wedding day is going to come together seamlessly and be a great time! Seeing our couples go from the excitement of an engagement session to the anticipation and pure joy of their wedding day is such a delight.
