This Texas couples session was the first one we got to shoot on our very own 7 acres of wide open gorgeous land! Alexis and Anthony our repeat clients of Silver Bear Creative, we did videography for their wedding in 2019, and were so happy they wanted to do a sunset couples session with us! This Texas couples session took place right after the pandemic lock down began, and coincided with our big move onto this land as well. We were dying to shoot on our land, there are endless little spots that get the best light coming through the trees in the evening! Check out the image of these two holding hands, the sun flare peeking through is to die for! We shot in our hammock, in the road, in the trees- such a great variety of backdrops in one session!
Adding fun elements to the background…
I wanted to add a fun element to the background for some of these shots, the cream colored intricate macrame hanging between the trees was the perfect touch. It’s small things like this that can make all the difference in a shot, adding some extra interest to the background is something I love getting creative with. The macrame was natural enough that it blends right into the image without looking out of place, it’s a seamless detail that I adore.
Another important element to blend in seamlessly into any session is outfits, Alexis and Anthony did such a great job! The mustard yellow of Alexis’ dress is so in style right now, as is the snake print booties- so cute! The neutrals of Anythony’s outfit lets her pop of color shine and is a timeless approach. The neutral colors look amazing next to the deep greens and earthy browns that cover our land at this time of the year. I cannot wait for all of the sessions to come on our land, it’s a huge bonus to have the whole place to ourselves during sessions- we can have all the fun!
